Emergencies
For safety related emergencies (medical, fire or evacuation,
biological or blood spill, radiation spill, chemical spill or gas
leak), please refer to the Harvard Longwood Emergency Response Guide.
Building Evacuation
When the fire alarm sounds everyone must evacuate the building and assemble in the designated area (see map)
Evacuation is mandatory and those who do not evacuate may be subject to arrest.
Do not congregate at the exit or near the building.
Proceed directly to the assembly area.
Please report missing or unaccounted for colleagues, or those in
need of evacuation assistance, to the person in charge (e.g. Police or
Fire Department).
Do not re-enter the building until instructed by a uniformed official.
Do not enter any building that has the fire emergency strobes
flashing. This is an indication that the building is still in alarm.
When it is safe to enter, the strobes will stop flashing.
